  • Data contained in the object may differ depending on the operating system
In this session we will learn about two Windows Artifacts:
  • Shortcut (.LNK) files
  • Jump Lists
Shortcut (.LNK) file
  • File which refers or points to another file
  • Has an .lnk extension
  • Also known as link files
Jump Lists
  • Automatically created by Windows OS 7 and above
  • this feature can be enabled/disabled by user
  • Provides the user the opportunity “jump” or access recently opened items
