The Darien Police Department faces challenges when serious crimes occur due to limited equipment. Cases such as a seized cellphone from a sexual assault, voyeurism cases, and digital evidence from the Jennifer Dulos murder highlight the need for a forensic workstation. Currently, we rely on regional assets, as we lack a workstation, GrayKey, and licenses. Despite our small size, our officers assist other agencies and take on ICAC cases. With our limited Detective Division budget, purchasing a workstation would take years. Winning this workstation from Sumuri would significantly enhance our investigative capabilities and support victims locally and statewide.
I think the fact that Sumuri is giving back says a great deal about what Sumuri stands for. My son's computer teacher (Mr. Davis/BASC) helps out the Garfield Police Department with forensic cases involving missing persons and human trafficking due to their lack of forensic resources. This contribution would get them where they need to be. This new Sumuri forensic processing unit will dwarf their current setup and allow them to expedite the processing of their case load, helping them turn cases around faster and more efficiently. Missing persons and human trafficking cases are at an all time high and these investigators need the best resources to get the job done.
I am honored to nominate the Lakeland Police Department (LPD) for a SUMURI TALINO Forensic Workstation. LPD is a regional leader in digital forensics, supporting its community and neighboring agencies that lack their own resources. The unit handles high-impact cases involving homicide, sexual assault, child exploitation, fraud, narcotics, and cybercrime, with nearly every investigation requiring digital analysis. A new TALINO workstation would expand capacity, allow simultaneous examinations, improve evidence review with detectives, reduce turnaround times, and strengthen the support LPD provides to smaller agencies across central Florida.
Genoa is among the ten most unsafe cities in Italy, with 39,479 crimes reported in 2024—4,822.4 per 100,000 residents, up 4.91% from 2023. Common offenses include 14,462 thefts, 6,935 cases of damage, 5,151 fraud and cyber fraud reports, 1,299 malicious injuries, 730 drug-trafficking cases, 529 robberies, and other crimes including extortion, arson, smuggling, and child exploitation. As a major European port, Genoa faces constant drug and human-smuggling activity. The municipal police lack adequate staff and technology, and advanced tools like a Talino workstation could greatly accelerate investigations.
Hi! Rebekah and the Missoula PD have no idea I am sharing this. Having provided Missoula support through training and response to technical questions, it is notable that they regularly are working important criminal cases with a high caseload, but do not hae acess often times to necesary resources. Rebekah and the Missoula PD are passionate about getting cases right! Even when the artifacts are unsupported and robust testing needs to be done - they do it! I would love to see them have the power of a Talino supporting them. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. = Regards, Jessica Hyde jessica@hexordia.com
